The building of the small covered jail, which is the subject of reconstruction, is located on Trg Pravde, at Prilaz baruna Filipovića 22 in Zagreb. The small covered stable was built as part of the construction of the Vozarska barracks in 1903 and was a part of the former historical complex built for the purpose of housing the military rolling stock of the divisional crew of the city of Zagreb and related units. It is part of the urban structure that determines the historical identity of the area of cultural heritage - the historical urban entity of the city of Zagreb.
The planned reconstruction envisages the conversion of the existing building into the land registry department of the Municipal Civil Court in Zagreb. The program for the reconstruction of the jail provides office-type spaces (spaces for the work of officials) in combination with spaces available to the public (halls with counters, courtrooms, etc.). In addition to the listed contents, an archive is planned in the basement. Subsequent additions that physically rest on the existing stable were removed, making the reconstructed and extended building stand-alone. The area around the reconstructed horse station will be arranged as an urban park with high and low greenery and the necessary pedestrian connections, and will be equipped with accompanying urban equipment. The project is financed by the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Justice.
