Four additional floors have been constructed in the framework of the reconstruction intervention extension and expansion of the existing gynaecology building. The new floors are structurally independent from the existing building and the construction did not interfere with the functionality and amenities on the reconstructed ground and first floors of the existing building.
The steel structure expansion "bridged" the gynaecology building and functions completely independently in the static sense. Static independence was achieved through the construction of AB piles (around the existing building) with a capping beam that serve as the foundations of the new build / extension, so that it has its own independent foundations, its own independent steel structure, as well as all other elements - utilities, communications, etc. The two buildings are interconnected with vertical communication to allow the optimum operation of the hospital.
