The first Croatian savings bank1898 – 1900. she had the palace of the First Croatian Savings Bank built. The builder was Josip pl. Vancaš, who was also in charge of construction supervision, and the construction was carried out by the company Pilar & Mally & Bauda. The central part of this building has an octagonal shape and is surmounted by a dome, which is an example of the technical achievements of the time visible in the metal grid structure with stained glass windows. This central part is connected by two passages with the neighbouring street and square. The figural reliefs on the attics and the impressive Atlanteans at the entrance are the work of the Reinhold Völkel workshop, and their relief Croatia on the west side under the dome with many allegorical figures is also known, while the author of the stone statues is Dragutin Morak. The facility was built in a very short period of fifteen and a half months. The renovation project of the northern and southern aisles of the palace of the First Croatian Savings Bank Octagon included the protection and restoration of the facade plaster according to the existing profiles, the rehabilitation and restoration of the glass ceilings, the cleaning of the existing ones and the replacement of carpentry elements with fittings.
